River Cottage is an isolated cottage set in a beautiful spot, often visited by our resident rhino, and is right next to the Palala River. Perfect for a couple, the cottage sleeps two people (fixed double bed) with mosquito netting. It has a bathroom with bath and shower, lounge with fireplace and fully-kitted kitchen. Towels are provided.
The cottage is let at a rate of R300 per person per night at weekends/holidays and R275 midweek. (There is a minimum rate of R800 for a one night weekend booking or R370 per night for one person only).
Holiday rates apply for Christmas, New Year, Easter and Long Weekends.
The Podica Chalets
The three Podica chalets are situated together in a quiet spot next to the Palala River. The chalets have an open plan living area with bed(s), table and kitchenette. Each has a separate bathroom with bath, and an outside shower. Each chalet is slightly different
Podica 1; has a double bed
Podica 2; has a double bed and twin beds, in the same room
Podica 3; has a double bed and fold down sofa bed which sleeps one, or two children, in the same room.
Each chalet has its own individual braai area.
Please note – there is no swimming pool at Podica, and we recommend a high vehicle as in places the roads are very rocky.
The rate is R240 per person per night at weekends/holidays, and R220 per person per night midweek. Children under 12 are half price if sharing a chalet with their parents.
There is a minimum rate for a one night booking of R330 pppn at weekends.
Crockery, cutlery, 2 ring stove, microwave, kettle and toaster are provided in all accommodation. All you need to bring is your food and drinks, and possibly ice.
Kingfisher cottage sleeps a maximum of 10 people in 3 twin rooms and 2 double rooms. The cottage has a comfortable living area with a fireplace place and dining table.
There is also a plunge pool for your enjoyment. Towels are provided but you may want to bring additional towels for use by the pool.
The rate is R260 per person per night weekends / holidays and R230 per person per night midweek, with a minimum charge of R700 if only two people are to occupy the Cottage. Children under 12, R130 per child per night weekends / holidays and R115 pcpn midweek. There is also a minimum rate of R330 pppn for a one-night weekend booking. Minimum rate of R 1040 per night during weekends and minimum rate of R700 for 2 people for midweek and a minimum rate of R 1040 for the house per night during weekends.
Wood is available for R10.00 per bundle as part of a work creation project which helps with conservation and reserve management.
You can self-drive with a suitable vehicle or walk on the reserve. Guided game drives and walks can be booked through Jembisa Lodge (subject to availability as the Lodge has priority).
Game on the Reserve includes White Rhino, Giraffe, Burchell’s Zebra, Kudu, Eland, Impala, Warthog, Bush pig and much more.
Please be aware that Jembisa Lodge and its facilities are reserved for exclusive use of Lodge guests who pay a premium for sole use of the Lodge. No day visitors are permitted. The Lodge and Self-Catering accommodations are entirely separate entities.
