Nungubane Game Lodge in the Welgevonden Reserve is situated in the malaria-free zone of the Waterberg Region in Limpopo Province. This reserve on the Waterberg Plateau comprises of mountainous terrain, deep valleys and kloofs (ravines).
Welgevonden Private Game Reserve is one of South Africa's most prestigious game reserves consisting of 37 500 hectares of pristine bushveld bordering on the renowned Marakele National Park.

A mere 3 hour drive heading North from Johannesburg will bring you to Nungubane Game Lodge which lies in Welgevonden Private Game Reserve, at the heart of the spectacular Waterberg. The Waterberg, high in the Limpopo Province, is one of South Africa's last unspoilt wildernesses.
Free from malaria, with a temperate climate, Welgevonden is a leading South African private game reserve. Its 37 500 hectares are home to the Big Five, including some 50 White Rhino, 16 species of antelope, a rich variety of other animals and some 250 species of birds.
Nungubane accommodates a maximum of ten guests in intimate luxury. Guests are accommodated in spacious chalets, which command majestic views over the reserve from their individual decks.

There is a landing strip in close proximity to Nungubane. The airstrip co-ordinates are 24° 17' 09 S 27°47' 09 E

From Johannesburg take the N1 towards Polokwane (Pietersburg) to the Kranskop Toll Plaza. At the Toll Plaza follow the Modimolle (Nylstroom) off ramp. Continue through Modimolle (Nylstroom), carry on through Mabatlane (Vaalwater) and continue to the Main Gate – 26km from Vaalwater.
Do not enter the Main Gate but rather continue on until the Schoongelegen turn-off (22.5 km's). Turn left to Schoongelegen and continue on sand road to the West Gate (16.5 km's). Enter at the West Gate (be sure not to enter at the contractors gate).
Secure parking is provided at the West Gate and a vehicle will transport you to your private game lodge.
